What is a Home / Property Inspection?

Why should I get a Home Inspection?

For the buyer, purchasing a home or property is one of the biggest investments and most significant transactions you can go through in life. Having peace of mind, along with the confidence that your making the right decision, is at the utmost importance. A property inspection allows you to gain knowledge about the property top to bottom, inside and out, without being potentially blinded by aesthetics. It gives you an advantage of a professional knowledgeable opinion of the true condition of the property. Whether its a minor defect or a major safety issue, an inspection is a tool you can use in negotiating or determining price, forecasting possible renovations, and ultimately protecting you and your family physically and financially.

What are the benefits of a Pre-Listing Inspection?

For a seller, there are many benefits to getting a Pre-Listing Inspection. It not only creates a positive atmosphere of good faith, but also helps to ensure a smooth transaction process when it comes to closing time on a deal, providing fewer surprises that could potentially derail the transaction. It allows both parties involved to become more familiar with the property's current condition. This can help determine pricing, as well as any work that may require attention short, medium, or long term.

Can anyone get a Property Inspection?

Yes, of course! You don't need to be listing or buying a property to have one inspected. Whether its the home you live in, an investment property, or your business, an inspection can be very beneficial. Just like regular check ups on your body, a home or property inspection gives you the opportunity to better understand it's inner workings and catch potential small problems before they become a major costly issue. From the nooks and crannies you may never see, or the issues you may not even know existed, an inspection can be a useful form of prevention from unexpected expenses and or potential safety concerns.

What is Thermal Imaging?

Otherwise known as Infrared Thermography, it is a process where a thermal camera captures and creates an image of an object using infrared radiation emitted from the object or area. Temperature differences and patterns on walls, ceilings, and floors are detected and could indicate possible problem areas that our eyes may not be able to see. Thermal Imaging is a valuable tool that can be used to avoid costly expenses by finding such things as moisture, heat loss / air intrusion, roof leaks, plumbing & HVAC issues, as well as electrical safety concerns.
